This year looks to be another Great Event, including a new run into Death Valley National Park – an overnighter!! It will be a historical run, running the Death Valley Escape Trail, the route of the Arcane-Bennett families who entered Death Valley in the winter of 1849-50 and “escaped” via Warm Springs Canyon, Butte Valley, Panamint Valley and Fish Canyon. This run will start at Death Valley Junction on Wednesday morning, November 8, 2017. This run will make a stop for the night at PVD camp, then on Friday, November 10 the last of the run will be completed.
This year Casey’s Steaks & Barbecue will again be catering the Saturday night dinner. The cost will be $20 per person. We will be taking orders up to 9:30AM on Saturday during the event. Last year we had almost 200 people for dinner. Here is the menu:
- Hickory smoked tri-tip
- Smoked St. Louis style ribs
- Corn on the cob
- Baked beans
- Caesar salad
- Dinner roll
- Soft drink
We will have all the same runs for you people that are set on doing the same run year after year. Or you might want to try a new run this year and get a little more body damage on your rig, or just come and enjoy the peace and quiet that Panamint Valley has to offer: the beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and the wonderful colors of the mountains on both sides of the Panamint Valley.
