Welcome to Tierra Del Sol
Southern California’s Largest Not-for-profit Family Oriented 4×4 Clubs
Tierra Del Sol Four Wheel Drive Club of San Diego is a group of like minded off road enthusiasts, comprised of 50 family members. Our love of the outdoors is enhanced by our vehicles which allows us to travel the most beautiful and remote locations Southern California has to offer.
Some may say we are an eating club with a four wheel drive problem!
Tierra Del Sol, or TDS started in the late 50’s and became an official club in 1962. In 1963 the very first Tierra Del Sol Desert Safari was held. Over these many years, our Desert Safari has provided endless stories, unique experiences and amazing memories for thousands of our participants. For more than 60 years our small club has been honored and excited to be able to produce such a wholesome event.
TDS’s recipe for success is hard work, cooperation, dedication and fellow club members that turn into family. With that family comes the usual, fun, camaraderie, passionate discussion, dysfunction, but hey! We put the fun in disfunction! And a whole lot of love!

Casual rides along the coast, main roads or easy dirt trails, with plenty of eye candy.
HARDCORE TRAILS
Beyond stock vehicles and novice drivers required on these ultra-crazy rides.
CAMPING TRIPS
Family & friends gather round the fire for fun camp-outs, with driving trails close by.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
We also take part in bettering our local trails and other areas with cleanup runs and community outreach projects.
