Michael Murray is the Vice President of the Tierra Del Sol Off Road Club, where he plays a key role in organizing events and nurturing the off-road community. His passion for off-roading started with a 1984 Jeep CJ7 and continues with his current 1998 TJ. In addition to his Jeep, Michael also owns a side-by-side (SxS), which allows him to explore diverse off-road terrains with his friends and family.
Professionally, Michael is an equipment operator in the Pipeline construction industry, where he manages complex machinery as both an Operator and Mechanic. Prior to this, he worked as a mechanic specializing in Jeep repairs and modifications. This background not only deepened his understanding of automotive mechanics but also led to a successful off-road racing career, securing multiple podium finishes in Class 5/1600, including a Baja 1000 win, and Class Champions in the SCORE desert series. No matter what he is doing, he is probably doing it in the dirt!
Outside of his professional and racing achievements, Michael enjoys a fulfilling family life. He is married and the proud father of two sons, with whom he shares his passion for adventure and the outdoors. Teaching about off-roading to his boys, Nick and Zachary- he hopes to continue the tradition of fun in the desert for future generations.
